My life revolves around pets – both personally and professionally. I have a dog named Willow, shown above playing in the Texas bluebonnets. She is a 2½ year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and loves playing fetch and chasing butterflies. Growing up we had a dog, cat, bird and even a hamster at one point.

I now get to take care of four-legged friends by sourcing items for them at a Sam’s Club. I have worked at Club Support (the headquarters) since February 2016, but I’ve been working with the pet industry since 2007. Nothing brings me more joy than knowing I am helping take care of our members’ furry family members. It’s rewarding to know we have such great quality items available without having to pay the high pet specialty prices.

My most recent focus has been launching our newest Member’s Mark dog food, which begins with quality ingredients. That’s why I work with companies who can produce in the USA and can pass the most stringent human food evaluation audits.

We have strict quality standards in place, even to the extent that every single batch is tested to make sure each bag of our Member’s Mark pet food is safe. Each new recipe required more than six months of research and testing and even included palatability testing to make sure dogs love the taste.

So what did we come up with? Introducing the new Member’s Mark Grain Free Chicken & Vegetable and a new look for our Member’s Mark Grain Free Salmon and Pea Dog Foods!
We’ve taken all natural, high quality ingredients (meaning no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives) and made them available at an incredible value.

Our Member’s Mark Grain Free Chicken & Vegetable Recipe has 34% protein, much higher than most other formulas available in the market. It has real chicken as the first ingredient and also includes chickpeas, flaxseed, apples, spinach and cranberries, so you know it is good!

Member’s Mark Grain Free Salmon and Pea Recipe features sustainable, wild-caught salmon as the first ingredient. Salmon is a highly digestible protein source and excellent source of Omega-3 fatty acid DHA, which promotes healthy vision and brain development.

So why grain free? Grain allergies — specifically soy, corn and wheat — are becoming increasingly problematic for many dogs. Research has shown these grains may contribute to digestive problems, skin irritation and inflammation.

Both the Salmon and the new High Protein Chicken were formulated to accommodate every size of dog, from toy breeds to large dogs and they both come in re-sealable, zipper top bags.

Interested in giving the new product a try? Any change in your pet’s food should be made gradually. Begin by adding a little of the new food to your pet’s old food, and for the next 7-10 days, gradually increase the amount of new food while decreasing the old.

How do you know it is good? Here is some feedback from a member:

“My dog is making a mess around her food bowl. She just eats the new Member’s Mark food and drops the old food on the floor. Bye-bye other brand.”

Both the Grain Free Chicken and Grain Free Salmon are available in every club and can also be purchased online and shipped to your house.

I am always on the look out to find great “treats” for our members and their pets and happy to help feed your family members with ingredients that wouldn’t put you in the dog house with your pup.
