10 Ways Your Sam’s Club Membership Can Pay for Itself

It’s true! You’re not officially an adult until you have a Sam’s Club Membership; just ask our members posting on Insta.

If you aren’t already a member and are considering a membership, aka the true adult rite of passage, here’s a list of items that will basically pay for your membership.

Each one of these items will, by itself, pay for the yearly $45 Club membership fee and some will even cover the $100 Plus membership, just in case you want the best of the best, of course.

And if you are already a member, you’re already slaying and below you may learn about a few more ways to be the Beyoncé of the big box.

1. But first, coffee
Do you start the day off with a cup of Joe? Then you can start it off with saving some dough! Our Member Mark Donut Shop Coffee is exclusive to Sam’s Club and is certainly a member favorite.

Check out this math:

Let’s say you only drink one cup each day (yeah right) for a full year, then you would buy four boxes at an all-in price of about $120. If you bought the national brand you would have to buy it more frequently and you would spend more than $185, which means you’ve already more than paid for a $45 Club membership!

2. Tickets, yes, tickets.

Sam’s Club is working with Ticket Monster to create a member only site SamsClubTix.com. So whether you want to “take her out to the ballgame”, hit up a concert, or travel to a theme park your first step should be to save money with your membership by purchasing with Sam’s Club. Below are a few examples of purchases Sam’s Club members can make that will instantly cover the cost of a Club membership. Add your savings from your coffee to any of the savings below and you’ve more than paid for our Plus membership!

3. Buy a large appliance
Speaking of #adulting, sometimes you have to spend your hard earned money on items that aren’t as fun as concert tickets or wine. Sam’s Club can help you get the quality appliances you need and pay for your membership at the same time. Just check out the savings on the LG Ultra Large Capacity Three Door French Door Refrigerator in stainless steel. The savings on this item alone are more than $150, which can more than pay for the Plus membership and leave you with some cash to buy food (or wine) to put in the new fridge.

4. Meet the meat
Did you know if you buy 8 pounds of ribeye steaks, you’ve basically paid for your Club membership? With the savings that you receive on our USDA Choice Angus Beef Cowboy Ribeye Steak, and our USDA Prime boneless Ribeye and Strip steaks, we dare you to compare!

5. Buy gift cards
Eat out regularly? At 20% off, after buying more than four $39 Extra Value gift cards, you can save enough to pay for a Club membership. And it keeps paying back from there. Did you know that you can get gift cards for Zaxby's, Steak & Shake, Papa John's, Boston Market and many more, including local restaurants too based on your club location?

6. Pay attention to Instant Savings
You don’t need to clip coupons, just use Sam’s Club Instant Savings that are automatically loaded to your membership card. Last month, Sam’s Club gave members more than $6,500 in savings running through July 15 and range on items from trash bags to Tide.

7. Use the pharmacy and optical services
As a Sam’s Club Plus member, you can save on select name-brand prescriptions and access over 600 generic prescriptions for $10 or less. Learn more here by checking out or Extra Value Drug list, which actually saved one couple $9,000 a year! Also, plus members get 20% off glasses and can even get a complete pair of glasses starting at $59. Learn more here!

8. Roll on top tires for less
Sam’s Club offers tires from top brands like Goodyear, Pirelli, and BFGoodrich all at $80 off a when you by four with the everyday value program. We’ve also recently expanded our tire brands to include eight more. The tires are a great way to pay for your membership, but the perks are even better.

9. Let them eat cake… or you can eat cake, either way you’re saving $$!
What would you expect to pay for a three-tiered cake for someone’s birthday? $100? No ma’am, at Sam’s Club locations you can get a Two Tier White or Chocolate Cake with But'r'Crème Icing for less than $37 and a three-tiered cake for less than $70.

  • 2 Tiered – 46 servings - $36.98
  • 3 Tiered – 66 servings - $68.98

This means that our cakes are about $1 per slice!

10. A girl's best friend
Don’t be too sassy to check out Sam’s Club when you’re looking for diamonds. Many of our diamonds come with an IGI certification and appraisal, so you know exactly what you’re getting and who cares what color the box is when you’re saving a TON of money and getting a quality rock?!

Want to know about the carats in our clubs?

Check out our (1.95 CT. T.W.) in Round Diamond Stud Earrings! At Sam’s Club they are less than $6,000 and have an IGI appraisal value of $9,970…talk about paying for your membership!

If you’re looking for an engagement ring, we’ve got you covered there too! Whether you’re looking for a halos, three stone (the one below appraises at more than $100k!) and baguettes, we’ve got it all.

Below you will find our 1.46 CT.T.W. diamond round solitaire ring set in 14k white gold for less than $6,500, that’s $3,000 less than the IGI appraisal.

There are plenty of other samples (ahem) of ways to pay for your membership at Sam’s Club, but we thought that these may get you started.
