Editor’s Note: Hero Hours for first responders and health care workers have been updated as of April 2021. These early hours will only be offered on Tuesdays from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. local time, going forward. We know this was an impactful service to your community and we are proud to be able to continue this service with this new schedule.

Mr. Sam once said that the best ideas come from our associates and we believe this to be true now more than ever.

Previously a few of our clubs invited healthcare workers and first responders for early shopping hours with our associates. What an act of kindness and consideration for those on the front lines! It’s inspiring to watch the ways our associates serve those around them.

Our heroes (Sam’s Club associates) can shop the club early every Sunday from 8 a.m. – 10 a.m. and we’re following the lead of those thoughtful clubs by expanding the audience for this shopping period to include healthcare workers and first responders.

On that note, we are announcing today that first responders and healthcare workers will be welcomed chainwide into our clubs for special shopping hours on Sundays from 8 a.m. – 10 a.m. These Hero Hours will kick off Sunday, April 19 and continue until further notice. All shoppers entering clubs will be provided with a mask for safety.

Most importantly I want to thank all our heroes, healthcare workers, first responders and our associates for all you’re doing and the way you’re helping our communities.

Select Walmart and Sam’s Club Pharmacies Ready To Dispense Authorized COVID-19 Antiviral Medication Through Federal Retail Pharmacy Therapeutics Program

Walmart and Sam’s Club pharmacies are ready to receive and dispense the FDA authorized COVID-19 antiviral medications, Paxlovid and Molnupiravir, this week as supplies allow. The medication will only be available at certain Walmart and Sam’s Club locations in a limited number of states until more supply is available. The medication is only available with a prescription from a health care provider.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have authorized the Pfizer vaccine for children aged 5 to 11. This is a positive step forward in our ongoing efforts to serve and protect our communities. As a parent of two school-aged kids, with a husband who teaches, I understand the daily uncertainty parents around the country have been living with.

Pfizer, Moderna and J&J Booster Shots Now Available at Walmart and Sam’s Club Pharmacies Nationwide

With the news that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has now authorized boosters for Moderna and Johnson & Johnson (J&J) COVID-19 vaccines, Walmart and Sam's Club pharmacies are ready. If you recall, Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine became eligible as a booster in September. Getting vaccinated is one of our best ways to ensure that you, your family, loved ones and community can stay healthy.

Walmart and Sam’s Club Now Administering Booster Shots

Booster shots available in more than 5,100 pharmacies across the U.S. to eligible individuals. Based on recent Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance, Pfizer booster shots are now available six months after completion of the original series for those age 65+; residents in long-term care facilities; age 50-64 at high risk of COVID-19 due to underlying medical conditions; age 18-49 at high risk of COVID-19 due to underlying medical conditions; and people aged 18-64 years who are at increased risk for COVID-19 exposure and transmission because of occupational or institutional setting. Walmart and Sam’s Club are now administering Pfizer booster shots in more than 5,100 pharmacies around the country where supply allows.
