Administering COVID-19 Vaccines

    Associate Support

We are truly grateful to our associates for the vital services they’re providing to their communities. We’ve taken measures to help them stay safe and healthy. We ask any associate who feels unwell to stay home, and we set a new policy to support any associate who may be affected by the virus, including paid leave for associates who needs to self-quarantine. Another step includes taking the temperatures of associates as they report to work.

Face Coverings

Per CDC Guidance, all Walmart and Sam’s Club associates working in an area of substantial or high transmission are required to wear a mask or face covering while working indoors, regardless of vaccination status. In these counties and where there are state or local mask mandates, associates will be required to wear masks inside our facilities, including stores, clubs, distribution centers, fulfillment centers and our campus offices. The CDC updates its data on transmission rates every Monday, so the guidance on mask usage will change over time in different locations.

Facility Management will also post signage at our stores and clubs to remind customers and members about the CDC’s revised guidance and strongly encourage them to wear masks or face coverings.

N95 Mask Distribution

Over the next few weeks, we will be distributing N95 masks free of charge at more than 5,100 Walmart and Sam’s Club locations as part of the U.S. Federal Retail Pharmacy Program. Masks will be available to individuals, limited to three masks per person. You can pick up your masks at the front of stores, and in clubs, by following signage to help you locate masks and find resources to help you understand proper fitting. At Sam’s Club locations, the general public may get their free masks while supplies allow without a membership.

Use this link for information on the proper way to wear an N95 mask.

Sanitation & Social Distancing

We’ve taken extra steps to support social distancing in clubs by providing visual markers to support the 6-foot guidance. We’re making shopping cart cleaning more efficient to provide sanitized carts faster for members.

  • Quantity Limits

We continue to work around the clock to restock many of the key items we know your families need right now. We are currently limiting some products to one item per member to ensure that more of our members have access to the products they need.

Scan & Go™

For contact-free shopping in your club, we encourage you to use our exclusive Scan & Go™ feature in the Sam’s Club app. Simply scan your items with your phone, pay in the app and skip the checkout line.

Pickup

In June, we launched curbside Pickup at all clubs nationwide to help provide fast, easy and contact-free shopping for members. Simply order and pay online or in the app. When your order’s ready, park in a Pickup spot and we’ll load your car for you. Same-day Pickup may be available if the order is placed before 3pm and is limited to 10 items or fewer. If your club doesn’t have a convenient time slot available, please check back, as new time slots open every morning.

For months, Walmart and Sam's Club pharmacies nationwide have been administering COVID-19 vaccines as we work to keep our communities safe and healthy. I joined Walmart at the beginning of August because of the tremendous impact the company has on supporting and caring for our communities during the pandemic. I’m proud to support the teams as we’ve expanded our vaccinations to include third doses of the COVID-19 vaccine for immunocompromised individuals, along with our low-cost flu shots.

One year ago, I was leading the testing rollout for our associates as the pandemic brought us so many unknowns, but our goal was to keep our associates and customers informed, healthy and safe. Now, one year later, we have COVID-19 vaccines available, and nearly 200 million Americans have received at least one shot. We know face coverings help prevent the spread, and we know testing remains important.
