Bentonville, AR—August 3, 2010— What do Illinois, North Carolina and Texas have in common? They all have record numbers of health conscious consumers who took part in a recent health screening at Sam’s Club.  Based on the number of clubs in each state, Florida though topped the list with the most residents participating in the event, with 2,555 people visiting one of 41 Sam’s Club locations there. Sam’s Club saw more than 26,000 people total during the one day event July 10 and administered more than 105,000 vital health screenings throughout the U.S. in more than 400 of its facilities.

During a health screening, attendees can select from one or all of the following possible tests to check bone density, cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure and body mass index. The tests are geared for adults 18 years or older and are valued at more than $150.00. Sam’s Club hosts the health screenings quarterly for members and as service to the community.  To find a health screening at a Sam’s Club in your area click here

“Health screenings are a simple and generally no cost intervention that can provide tremendous insight into your current health and your risk of disease going forward, said Dr. Andrew Myers, a nutrition and preventative health expert.  “Health screenings are designed to provide you with a “snap shot” of a number of key health markers and potential risk factors.”

In addition to helping consumers “know their numbers” relative to key health indicators from the screenings, Sam’s Club can notify pharmacy users by text and phone when their prescription is ready to pick up. Sam’s Club Ready Reminders™ also notify again at three and seven days after being filled, and users can request prescriptions be automatically refilled.

As part of its 100 percent member satisfaction guarantee, Sam’s Club is offering a $10 gift card to its members or new pharmacy users in the event they are not completely pleased with their service. Sam’s Club pharmacists rank among the best in the nation based on an Independent Customer Satisfaction Study of National Retail Pharmacies. The pharmacy satisfaction $10 gift card program runs through Sept. 30, 2010.
