Fortune Magazine recognized President and CEO Kath McLay on its annual Most Powerful Women in Business list. This is Kath’s first time on the list.
Kath was ranked 31st on the list and was lauded for the services Sam’s Club launched to protect its associates and shoppers, including the acceleration of curbside pickup and the rollout of concierge shopping to benefit seniors and immunocompromised members.
Earlier in October, Kath spoke at the Most Powerful Women Summit about leading through the pandemic, the importance of small businesses and how Sam’s Club uses technology to solve problems.
"All of this disruption actually gave us an opportunity to accelerate our strategy," she told Fortune’s Beth Kowitt at the summit. "The pandemic gave us momentum behind our strategy."
